Publishing at Elsewhere Records: Protecting the Art, Empowering the Artist

At Elsewhere Records, our vision for music publishing goes beyond paperwork and percentages — it’s about creating a lasting foundation for the artists we believe in. As a boutique house and electronic label, we approach publishing the same way we approach everything else: intentionally, artist-first, and with a deep respect for the creative process.

What is Music Publishing, Really?

In simple terms, publishing is about protecting your songwriting rights and making sure you get paid whenever your music is used — whether that’s on a global stage, a streaming platform, a festival set, a film, or a viral video. Every time your music is performed, reproduced, or synced to picture, there are royalties generated. Publishing ensures those royalties make their way back to you.

Our Approach
We offer in-house publishing support tailored to the needs of our roster. That includes:

 • Worldwide registration of your compositions with PROs, CMOs, and royalty collection agencies.

 • Sync pitching, where we actively seek opportunities to place your music in film, TV, ads, video games, and branded content.

 • Royalty administration and payout, so you not only know where your income is coming from — across DSPs, live performance, YouTube, radio, and more — but also receive timely and transparent payments directly from us.

Why It Matters
For too long, indie artists have left money on the table simply because publishing felt too complicated or out of reach. We’re changing that. At Elsewhere, our publishing efforts are part of a bigger promise: to build careers, not just catalogues. We’re selective with what we take on, and that’s on purpose — so we can give each song the attention it deserves and each artist the transparency they need.

Looking Ahead
As Elsewhere grows, so does our publishing reach. We’re currently expanding our global partnerships to better serve our artists on an international scale, ensuring that every play, spin, and sync opportunity is captured — no matter where in the world it happens.
